William O. Collins, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Dr. Collins received his undergraduate degree from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. He then graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine, before pursuing a residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Collins completed a one year fellowship in Rhinology & Advanced Endoscopic Sinus Surgery under the direction of Dr. Roy Casiano at the University of Miami. He then completed a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Children's National Medical Center (CNMC) in Washington, D.C. Dr. Collins stayed on as an attending physician at CNMC within the Division of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, with an academic appointment with the George Washington University School of Medicine.
Dr. Collins is now an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida College of Medicine, with appointments in both the Departments of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and Pediatrics. He is the Chief of Pediatric Otolaryngology, as well as the Surgical Director of the Pediatric Airway Center at the University of Florida. He is also the Assistant Residency Program Director for the Department of Otolaryngology. His special interests include management of disorders of the pediatric airway, including sinonasal disorders, snoring/obstructive sleep apnea, stridor, laryngomalacia, vocal cord paralysis, subglottic stenosis, airway reconstruction, and tracheomalacia.
He is married to Shelley W. Collins, M.D., a pediatric hospitalist at the University of Florida/Shands Childrens Hospital. They have three sons: Robbie, 6 years old; Cooper, 3 years old; and Jackson, 11 months old.
