Dr Abi Adewumi, a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, was born in
London
,
England
. She graduated with a BDS degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 1991. She subsequently went to the
UK
where she undertook postgraduate training in Oral sugery and obtained her Fellowship in Dental Surgery (FDS) from the Royal College of Surgeons of
England
in 1996.
Dr Adewumi obtained her Masters’ degree in Pediatric Dentistry from the
University
of
London
in 1999. She completed her specialist training in Pediatric Dentistry at King's College Dental Institute and
St George's
Hospital
in
London
and was awarded a Diploma of Member in Pediatric Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of
England
(MPead Dent RCS) in May 2003.
Her research interest is in Law and Ethics in Dentistry however other strong areas of interest include Dental Traumatology and Management of children with Cleft lip and palate and Craniofacial Anomalies.
Dr Adewumi joined the Craniofacial team as Pediatric Dental Faculty in March 2005 and is currently involved in presurgical nasoalveolar moulding (PNAM) of infants born with cleft lip and palate. |
