Dr.
Furlow, a skilled and inventive surgeon, has gained
world fame for developing the double-z palatoplasty
for repair of cleft palate Ð a technique that
is now most commonly referred to as the "Furlow
Procedure." Although retired from active practice
in the US, Dr. Furlow serves the Center as a
surgical consultant, and he participates in the
Center's international research in evaluating
outcome measures for different palatal
surgeries.
