| Dr. Williams serves as administrative
director of the center as well as providing
clinical speech-language service for the
team. He conducts videofluoroscopic and
nasendoscopic evaluations of patients
requiring secondary management
(surgical, prosthetic obturation or
behavioral therapy) of their
velopharyngeal function for speech. Over the past 16 years he has served as Principal Investigator of several international NIDCR funded grants in cooperation
with the University of Säo Paulo, Bauru,
Brazil. This research has focused on speech, velopharyngeal function, and other outcome
measures for different palatal surgeries. Dr. Williams also serves as the Statewide Coordinator for the CMS, DOH, statewide Florida Cleft and Craniofacial Network.
