Dr. Williams serves as administrative director of the center as well as providing clinical speech-language service for the team. He conducts videofluoroscopic and nasendoscopic evaluations of patients requiring secondary management (surgical, prosthetic obturation or behavioral therapy) of their velopharyngeal function for speech. He is the Principal Investigator of two international NIDCR grants in cooperation with the University of Säo Paulo, Bauru, Brazil investigating speech outcome measures for different palatal surgeries.
